Cooling for Home and Residential
Cooling systems are commonly overlooked in the Portland Metropolitan area because of our “mild climate”. It is simply viewed as a way to save money by not installing air conditioning as an option in a home or business. 
History shows that in 2008 and 2009 there were several weeks each year that temperatures were in excess of 100 degrees for weeks at a time. Additionally, there were more weeks where temperatures were in the 80’s and 90’s. The trend shows that ambient air temperatures are increasing and staying there for longer periods of time.
The building industry and energy efficiency guidelines mandate that homes are built increasingly air tight. From an air infiltration standpoint, that is a good thing. From the perspective of indoor air quality and from a comfort standpoint, it is not such a good thing during the summer months if you do not have air conditioning.
